Submissions

Owing to the enormous demand from writers seeking to send us work, as well as to our limited resources, Starcherone Books has developed this method for reading manuscripts for potential publication with us:

1. During the late summer / early fall each year, after our contest has concluded, we have an OPEN CONSIDERATION PERIOD of approximately six weeks. During this time, we read queries from authors who already have established their credentials in some way, generally through prior publication, awards, and the like. We ask for queries from writers describing their projects and their writing credentials. From these, we invite submissions. Our next period for receiving queries will be in the late summer/early fall, 2010.

2. In October of each year, we begin our ANNUAL CONTEST. This coming year, our contest will have a deadline of February 15, 2010. The final judge will be novelist Stacey Levine. See rules for our most recent contest here: http://www.starcherone.com/prize.htm

Our open submission period is now over.
We will again read manuscript queries beginning late next summer, dates to be announced.

WE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING ANY MANUSCRIPTS OR QUERIES OUTSIDE OF OUR CONTEST UNTIL THE 2010 CONTEST IS CONCLUDED.

Submissions of unsolicited manuscripts will risk being returned or discarded, unread.
